UE Students Financial Aid Calendar For 2015-16

BY MARCH 10 – FILE THE 2015-16 FAFSA: It’s time to file the 2015-16 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov to be considered for all forms of need-based aid, including federal, state and UE grants; federal loans; and federal work-study. Filing by March 10 is mandatory for Indiana residents, and highly beneficial for all. Once your FAFSA has been filed, please respond immediately to any requests you receive from the Office of Financial Aid to correct your FAFSA or provide verification documents.

IRS DATA RETRIEVAL: The UE Office of Financial Aid recommends that eligible students use this tool. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool transfers parent and/or student IRS tax information to the FAFSA. Federal income tax returns for 2014 must have been filed electronically for approximately 3 weeks to be available for this process. The IRS data retrieval function can be used for the initial FAFSA or to correct a submitted FAFSA which had been filed using estimated tax information.

MAY - WE CHECK GRADES AND CREDIT HOURS EARNED: After the completion of the spring semester, we will review students’ academic records to determine if they have met the requirements known as Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students who are deficient in meeting these standards are notified immediately via mail and are ineligible for any form of aid (including loans) until the deficiencies are corrected.

JUNE: Financial Aid Notification Letters are mailed in late June to your preferred address on file. Please make sure that your preferred address is accurate in UE’s system. Only students with complete files will receive awards.
