Financial Aid Calendar For 2014-15

FILE THE 2014-15 FAFSA: Students may still file the 2014-15 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov to be considered for all forms of need-based aid, including federal, state and UE grants; federal loans; and federal work-study. Indiana residents must have filed the FAFSA by March 10 to be eligible for state grant programs.

VERIFICATION/FAFSA PROBLEMS: Please respond immediately to requests you receive from the Office of Financial Aid to correct your FAFSA or provide verification documents. If you are notified that your FAFSA has been selected for Verification, students and parents must follow the instructions on the Verification Worksheet, and complete, sign and return the worksheet to our office. Financial Aid will not be offered to returning UE students until verification is final. Financial aid is offered to newly admitted students, but remains an estimate until verification is final.

MAY - WE CHECK GRADES AND CREDIT HOURS EARNED: After the completion of the spring semester, we will review the academic records of currently enrolled UE students to determine if they have met the requirements known as Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students who are deficient in meeting these standards are notified immediately via mail and are ineligible for any form of aid (including loans) until the deficiencies are corrected.

JUNE: For continuing UE students, Financial Aid Notification Letters are mailed in late June to your preferred address on file. Please make sure that your preferred address is accurate in WebAdvisor. Only students with complete and verified files will receive awards.

Attention Freshmen Indiana 21st Century Scholars/Freedom of Choice Award Recipients

Twenty-first Century Scholars and State of Indiana Frank O’Bannon Freedom of Choice Award recipients entering UE for fall 2013 must earn 30 credit hours by May 2014 to renew their awards at the maximum amount for next year. A lower value award may be available for 2014-15 for students earning at least 24 credit hours by May 2014. See the full policy for details.

The Office of Financial Aid (Olmsted Hall, Room 116) is eager to assist first-year state of Indiana aid recipients to achieve these new standards and/or correct deficiencies.
