Student Profiles
Hannah Sullivan
- What is your major?
- Stage Management with an associated study in Interpersonal Communication and Management Studies
- Year in school?
- Graduate - 2011
- Hometown?
- Saint Louis, MO
- Things you have done while attending UE?
- Participated in numerous theatre productions, been involved in National Make A Difference Day, participated in various intramural sports and attended other social and cultural events around campus.
- Most impressionable experience since being at UE?
- Harlaxton was without a doubt the most incredible and eye-opening experience I have had to date. Nothing can even come close to the experience of living in another country for 5 months and becoming part of that culture.
- Favorite professor and why?
- Diane Oliver. I took her Living World Religions class and was intrigued by the discussion that she initiated and in general the way she conducted the class. She was always open-minded about people's opinions, but never let the class wander too far off topic.
- Favorite class and why?
- Cultural Anthropology. Every single class I was learning something different. Dr. Berry was very interactive with the class. We could see a reflection of what we were learning in history and in our present lives. While the class was challenging, I walked away from it feeling incredibly well versed in human society as a whole.
- Clubs and organizations in which you are active and which one means the most to you and why?
- Women's Awareness is the only club of which I am a consistent member, and I love it. I have participated in many of the events they have done, such as the Vagina Monologues and I have learned a lot about not only the other women I go to school with, but myself as well. It is a very inviting and intelligent group of young women who want to make a difference.
- What do you like best about the Honors Program?
- All the opportunities it offers to students who want to take their academic endeavors to the next level. Whether it is a book discussion, an honors tea meeting or a guest lecturer, there is always something for the students to go to. It offers students a chance to broaden their depth of knowledge, especially in fields outside those of their specific study.
- Goals after leaving UE?
- Go back and work in the United Kingdom or Australia. Eventually I would like to move to New York City and stage manage professional theatre for a living, maybe do a Cirque Du Soleil show at some point.
