Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies

The Legal Studies major prepares students to become legal assistants, or paralegals, who assist attorneys in the preparation and prosecution of cases.

Major Requirements (45 hours)

  • ACCT 210: Principles of Accounting I
  • COMM 130: Fundamentals of Public Speaking
  • LAW 201: Legal Environment of Business
  • PSCI 3/400 level course
  • SA 110: Introduction to Software Applications or SA 120 Software Application and Data Analysis
  • LS 125: Law in Society
  • LS 300: Legal Research
  • LS 301: Legal Drafting
  • LS 491: Internship

Plus 18 hours from the following:

  • LS 310: Real Estate
  • LS 320: Evidence, Litigation and Trial Practice
  • LS 340: Federal Taxation
  • LS 343: Criminal Law
  • LS 345: Constitutional Law
  • LS 350: Business Organization
  • LS 370: Family Law
