The University of Evansville is pleased to announce the hiring of Donald L. Jones, an alumnus and former adjunct faculty member, as the University’s first vice president for marketing and communications.
In his new role, Jones will be responsible for overseeing the University’s brand strategy, marketing, public relations, and communications. He will begin work at UE on Monday, December 10.
Jones currently serves as vice president of marketing for MSW Research, a New York-based company that counts Disney, Intel, P&G, L’Oreal, Kraft, and MillerCoors among its clients.
“We are pleased to have someone of Don’s demonstrated success join the leadership team at the University of Evansville,” said UE President Thomas A. Kazee. “We have a great story to tell at UE, and Don’s considerable experience and energy will better enable us to let the world know what a remarkable place this is.”
Jones brings professional experience in strategic leadership, branding, marketing and communications, media relations, electronic communications, and more. Before joining MSW Research in 2007, he held positions including senior managing consultant for IBM, senior vice president of global product management at The ARS Group, and director of marketing at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Jones holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Evansville and a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Indiana University. He has taught graduate-level courses in strategic planning and marketing at UE.
“As a UE graduate, I have witnessed personally how the University of Evansville faculty and staff deliver a distinctive and personally life-changing experience that prepares every student for success in a global marketplace,” Jones said. “I look forward to sharing with students and their families the opportunities to change the world they can expect from joining the UE family.”
