Paul Parkison, Chair of the School of Education, has been published in "Scholar-Practitioner Quarterly." In his article, Parkison presents a theoretical argument about preparation of future teachers, framing teacher preparation within the question: "How should we prepare future teachers?"
His theoretical argument utilizes an analysis of the U.S. Department of Education's policy brief "Our Future, Our Teachers: The Obama Administration's Plan for Teacher Education Reform and Improvement" released in September 2011 to illustrate the threat of the impoverished law of the market model and the necessity of pursuing a different - a dissident - course.
