International Studies Student Profile
Julia Khoklova
Palmer, Alaska
Moving to the United States from Russia while in middle school is what first developed a love for languages in Julia Khoklova. "Then, when I moved to Palmer, Alaska, I met people from many different cultures, including Mexico, Colombia, and France, which inspired me to major in international studies and learn to speak four languages."
While at UE, Julia has taken advantage of numerous study abroad opportunities. "I studied in both Argentina and Spain for a semester each and lived with a host family and enrolled in their universities. I studied in Amsterdam and Canada, and I also completed an internship at the Institute of Foreign Affairs in San José, Costa Rica, where I met ambassadors from around the world and coordinated international educational events and conferences."
Julia credits the University of Evansville in giving her these opportunities. "The support of my advisors, the UE study abroad office, and the respective program coordinators allowed me to broaden my horizons and expand my mind."
