Transfer Student Admission Guidelines
The University of Evansville defines transfer students as those who have graduated from high school or received their GED and have enrolled at a college or university, regardless of credit hours earned. Students are welcome to apply for either the fall or the spring semester and should apply by the appropriate deadline.
Your application for admission will be carefully reviewed to determine your level of academic preparation and your potential for success at the University of Evansville. In addition, involvement in activities associated with high school, college, and the community in which you live is important.
To be considered for admission your cumulative college grade point average should be at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, your high school transcript will be reviewed for strength of curriculum and academic performance. You may supplement your application with a personal statement letter.

- SAT or ACT score (If the score does not appear on your high school transcript, you will need to request it from the testing agency.)

How will my courses transfer?
Each applicant's circumstances will vary, but one important issue to all transfer students is the evaluation of transfer credit. Once you are admitted, we will notify you of exactly how many hours will transfer, how many will apply toward graduation, and how many you need to complete your degree. Most courses in which you have earned at least a grade of 'C,' will transfer to UE. For more information on UE’s transfer credit policies, see the Office of the Registrar’s page.
If you are interested in learning about which of your courses will transfer to UE before you apply for admission, transfer credit estimates are available. Listed below are general education requirement course equivalency lists from area colleges. Please know additional courses besides general education requirements will transfer from these colleges.

How many hours must I earn to graduate from UE?
You must earn a minimum of 48 credit hours at UE in order to graduate.
What if I am applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program?
Second degree seeking students who wish to apply for admission into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, can visit the Physical Therapy area to access the Doctor of Physical Therapy application materials.
Due to an exceptionally strong cohort of applicants who have completed their pre-professional course work at the University of Evansville, we do not anticipate accepting additional applications for positions in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) class entering the professional program in June 2014. If positions become available, an announcement will be posted on the physical therapy website on October 1, 2013, and application materials will be posted at that time.
What about orientation, registration, housing, meal plans, etc.?
Once you are admitted and have submitted your $300 reservation deposit, you will receive a packet which includes applications for housing and meal plans, your health card, and information about STAR (Student Transfer Advising and Registration). STAR is held in January for students enrolling for the spring semester and in June or August for students enrolling for the fall semester. At STAR you will take any necessary placement tests, meet current students and administrators to learn more about UE, and meet with a faculty advisor who will assist you in course selection and registration.
Can I talk with a current student who transferred to the University of Evansville?
Sometimes it's nice to talk with someone who has "been there, done that." If you would like to communicate with a current student who transferred to UE, e-mail the Office of Admission at email@example.com. Your e-mail will be sent to a transfer student for a response.
The University of Evansville has the following recommended application deadlines.
- The application deadline for Fall 2014 is August 1, 2014. Students may apply after that time, but will be accepted on a space-available basis.
What is the timeline from applying to eventually becoming a UE student?
Apply for admission & request required materials to be sent to the Office of Admission, attention: Transfer Admission.
Once your file is complete, you will receive a telephone call or e-mail to confirm your admission status.
Your file will be taken to the Office of the Registrar for a review of transfer credits.
Your credentials will be evaluated and considered for transfer scholarships.
You will receive an official acceptance letter from the University. It will indicate if you were awarded a scholarship and provide an Admitted Student Handbook which includes your transfer credit report, information about the $300 reservation deposit, orientation, registration (STAR), and campus housing.
Once you submit your $300 reservation deposit* to the Office of Admission, a packet will be sent to you with details about how to sign up for orientation and registration (STAR), campus housing and meal plans. Also in the packet will be a health card to record your immunizations and results from a recent physical examination as well as proof of health insurance (health card required for full-time students only).
Orientation and registration (STAR) for students enrolling for fall is offered twice, in mid-June and the end of August, right before classes begin. For students enrolling in the spring, STAR is offered in January right before classes begin. The day starts at 8:00 a.m. and concludes about 4:00 p.m.
Fall semester classes typically begin the last Wednesday in August and spring semester classes typically begin on the first Monday in January after the New Year.

*By submitting the $300 deposit, you are indicating UE is your final college choice. If your enrollment intentions change after submitting the deposit, you must write or e-mail UE's Office of Admission informing the staff of your intent to cancel your enrollment. Your deposit will be refunded if written notice of cancellation is received in the Office of Admission by May 1 for the fall semester or November 1 for the spring semester.
