The University of Evansville is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Shane Davidson as the new vice president for enrollment services.

Davidson, who currently serves as vice president for enrollment and marketing management at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, will begin work at the University of Evansville on January 2, 2013.

“I am very excited about welcoming Dr. Davidson to the University of Evansville,” said UE President Thomas A. Kazee. “Shane brings tremendous energy and a wealth of professional experience to the position. We look forward to working with him.”

Davidson joined Hardin-Simmons University in 1997 as associate vice president for enrollment services. In 2006, he was promoted to vice president for enrollment management, and in 2010, he successfully merged the school’s marketing and communications and enrollment management offices.

At Hardin-Simmons University, Davidson’s accomplishments include a 14.2 percent increase in new, first-time undergraduate students from 2006 to 2011, a 48 percent increase in admission applications since 2003, and an 18.9 percent increase since 2004 in the number of new HSU students who graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes.

His 20-year career in higher education administration and management also includes the positions of director of financial aid, financial aid counselor, and assistant registrar at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, and director of university services at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas.

Davidson holds a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration and leadership from Baylor University, a Master of Business Administration degree in management from Wayland Baptist University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Howard Payne University.
