Posted: Tuesday, September 9, 2014

U.S. News & World Report has named the University of Evansville as one of the Best Regional Universities: Midwest in its annual Best Colleges rankings. The University was also listed as one of the 30 schools in the nation selected for best possible education experience for study abroad.

The Report named UE ninth out of 146 in the “Best Regional Universities: Midwest” category, and fourth on the list of “Great Schools at Great Prices” in the Midwest. The Report further recognized the University in the “A-Plus School for B Students” among Midwest regional universities listing. This unranked list features schools “where spirit and hard work could make all the difference to admissions offices,” according to U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News & World Report bases its rankings on measures of academic excellence such as student graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, and class sizes. The rankings are designed to help prospective students and their families evaluate college choices. The Best Colleges rankings are available online at USNews.com and will be published in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2015 guidebook, on newsstands September 23.

“Our rankings and enrollment reflect our mission of providing a global, affordable education founded in a solid liberal arts and sciences curriculum,” said UE president Thomas A. Kazee. “We continue to be dedicated to making these unique opportunities available to students in every community that we serve around the country and around the world.”
