UE Theatre to Open Steve Martin's

The University of Evansville Department of Theatre is pleased to present Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile. The production opens Friday, March 13 at 8 p.m., in the May Studio Theatre, directed by senior Christopher Jeracki of Fort Collins, Colo. Additional performances are at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 14; and Monday, March 16, through Thursday, March 19. There will be one 2 p.m. performance Sunday, March 15.
Picasso at the Lapin Agile is a comedy set on a magical night in Paris, 1904, when by chance, two twenty-four year old geniuses, Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, meet in a bar and lock wits about art, girls, and the future.
The cast features junior Alex Stage, from Alpharetta, Ga., as Albert Einstein; freshman Elvin P. McRae, from Novato, Calif., as Pablo Picasso; juniors Nick Steen, from Arlington, Texas, as Freddy; Lisa Kitchens, from Leesburg, Ga., as Germaine; Joseph Holloway, from Houston, Texas, as Gaston; Riley McIlveen, from Henderson, Nev., as Charles Darwin; and Titus Tompkins, from Leesburg, Ga., as Elvis Presley; as well as sophomore Samantha Bearden, from Fort Collins, Colo., as Suzanne; and senior Taylor Bailey, from Denton, Texas, as Sagot.
The design team for Picasso at the Lapin Agile includes scenic designer Heather Abraham, a senior from Omaha, Neb.; costume designer Helen Roundhill, a senior from Woodinville, Wash; lighting designer Steven Yaussi, a junior from Glendale, Calif.; and sound desginer Austin Bransgrove, a junior from Littleton, Colo.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior adults, students, and UE faculty and staff. UE students may pick up their free student rush ticket beginning at 12 noon on the day of the performance they wish to attend. Seating is very limited, and tickets may be reserved at 812-488-2031, Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 5 p.m.
