Published: March 31, 2009

With tough economic times upon us The University of Evansville’s Schroeder Family School of Business Administration and the Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education are offering their professional services to the community through the UE Community Résumé Workshop.

The Community Résumé Workshop will take place on Tues. April 21st from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration Building. The workshop will commence with a brief introduction and large group session that will address important résumé elements and resources. Following that, representatives from both departments will be available for one-on-one résumé consultation.

Registrants also have the option to submit their résumés in advance for preliminary feedback.

"Looking at the most recent unemployment numbers, it is clear that there are many people across the country – including the Evansville area – who are looking for jobs at the moment," said Gene Wells, UE’s Director of Career Services and Cooperative Education. "In that kind of market, every open position is going to be incredibly competitive – which is why it is critical that, when applying for a position, your résumé be crafted so that it stands out from the crowd.

"This workshop is an attempt to help those people looking for a job in the Evansville community – whether they are currently unemployed, or simply thinking about changing their situation – to put their best foot forward when sending out résumés."
