Martin Luther King Jr. Day Activities and Open House On Monday, January 21, at 1:00 p.m. the University of Evansville will reenact the 1963 Civil Rights March on Washington. The campus community will march from Carson Center to the CK Newsome Center in downtown Evansville. Following the march there will be a community program. The Black Student Union will also present a program in Shanklin Theatre at noon. (Pictured is the 2007 reenactment march.) Register for the January 21 Open House and participate in Martin Luther King Jr Day Activities. Diversity Initiative Fund Created Through a generous donation from Old National Bank, the University of Evansville has created the Diversity Initiative Fund. The fund is aimed at increasing diversity programming on UE’s campus and will encourage faculty, administrators, staff, and students to create new opportunities for interaction and cross-cultural engagement through diversity programs and activities. Aces' Place Continues to Grow
Aces' Place, the University of Evansville's online community for accepted students, continues to grow. Over 240 prospective UE freshmen have joined Aces' Place and are making it their own. Forty groups have already formed including Road Trip Route 3, I Love to Dance, Out-of-Towners, Business Majors, Exploration of Ancient Egypt and many more. Several current students are also online to answer questions about attending the University of Evansville. Aces' Place is adding more prospective freshmen everyday. The Web site is providing students the chance to meet, share profiles, and discuss common interests. With only prospective and current UE students and admission counselors on the site, it's a great way to find out more about attending Evansville. By completing the FAFSA, you will be applying for grants, student loans, and work-study from federal, state, and university sources. The University's FAFSA number is 001795. For Indiana residents, the form must be received by March 10 to be considered for aid. The FAFSA can be filed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Questions?
