What is Religious Life?
Religious Life offers to students the opportunity to continue or begin their spiritual quest during their college years. As a United Methodist-affiliated institution, UE offers an active Religious Life program and opportunities for worship, fellowship, Bible study, service projects, leadership, and retreats.
Led by the University chaplain with assistance from others, Religious Life programs support a variety of faiths that enable spiritual and moral growth. The University chaplain works with many groups and is available to students for formal and informal counseling. Local, regional, and international mission and service opportunities are coordinated for students. Regional and national campus ministry events are also available.
Neu Chapel is the University's worship center. In addition to the sanctuary and the chaplain's office, there is a Prayer Room that is open 24-hours a day and an area known as Grabill Lounge that is used for many events and meetings. There is also an interfaith prayer room located next to the the chaplain's office.
Ecumenical worship services are held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday during the academic year. Special Sunday services also are planned throughout the school year. Roman Catholic Mass is held at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
