Program Manager

The Center for Innovation & Change (CIC) invites applications for a program manager for a STEM education initiative. This is a 12-month grant-funded position, with funding for the position to continue for 5 years (sustaining funding past the grant will be sought). The ideal candidate will have experience supporting K-12 teachers, organizing programming in higher education, and knowledge of STEM best practices. They will also have experience in design thinking, and the ability to coordinate numerous initiatives at the same time.

The job responsibilities include managing the overall success of the initiative, keeping partners supported through to successful outcomes, fielding ideas from UE faculty on programming, as well as working to sustain the initiative past the 5 years. This program manager will also work in partnership with the program’s STEM Coordinator (housed in UE’s School of Education) and UE’s facilities teams to supervise the installation of the Design and Innovation Studio.

This partnership will allow the program’s STEM Coordinator and Program Manager to be fully supported by the School of Education and Center for Innovation & Change. Furthermore, the Program Manager will be a point of contact between the partners and the University for all things related to the initiative, managing the workflow across streams.

Special Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with design thinking as a cultural framework for program implementation and experience working as a generalist across multiple programs needing to be implemented at once. Excellent communication skills is a must.

Academic Preparation:

The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree (specific discipline not required as this candidate will need to be a generalist) with advanced training in design thinking.

Minimum Experience: 

Undergraduate degree and 3-5 years’ experience in project management.

Desired Experience:

Experience using the design thinking process to improve programmatic outcomes for educators.
