What was your favorite thing about Harlaxton?

It’s challenging to narrow down my Harlaxton experience to just one favorite aspect, but if I had to choose, it would be the ease of traveling both within the UK and beyond. The world truly feels like your oyster.

What were some countries/landmarks you visited while abroad?

I visited numerous places across the UK, including Scotland, Nottingham, London, the Lake District, Bristol, Bath, and many other incredible locations. In Europe, I explored cities like Budapest, Dublin, and Venice, among others. One of my favorite experiences was the five-day tour of Scotland, where we visited breathtakingly beautiful spots such as the Isle of Skye, Portree, Loch Ness, and Fort Augustus. I also adored Venice for its unique charm and the opportunity to immerse myself in its rich culture.

What piece of advice would you give to someone planning to study at Harlaxton?

It is completely normal if you start to miss home, at some point during your semester at Harlaxton. You are in a new environment with people you may not know well, but don’t let homesickness overtake your semester. Find a routine, reach out to new friends, do things you enjoy and try to keep in touch with family and friends back home. This might start to create a sense of normalcy which will reduce the feeling of homesickness. It is okay to feel this way; give yourself time to adapt and find comfort in your new home away from home.
