Introduction
UE offers the following sociology degree programs:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Sociology
Our sociology program is designed for students who want to explore and learn about society and human interaction and who seek a learning environment that will challenge them to make the most of their abilities. Sociology requires mastering a broad range of analytical and theoretical skills.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Sociology-Anthropology
UE's sociology-anthropology major is designed for students with an interest in human origins, ancient civilizations, and nonwestern societies.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Sociology-Gerontology
The sociology-gerontology major combines knowledge from the social and behavioral sciences and public health to understand the aging experience across the life course.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Master of Science in Leadership (either Higher Education or Nonprofit concentrations)
Earn a bachelor's and master's degree in this 4 + 1 program that combines a sociology degree with a master's degree in the concentration of your choice.

International Opportunities
Many sociology majors choose to broaden their studies by spending a semester at Harlaxton (UE's living, learning center, housed in a Victorian manor in Grantham, England) or at other universities around the world. UE's curriculum is tailored so students are able to spend a full semester abroad and still graduate in four years.
Undergraduate Research
100 percent of our majors complete and present independent research projects, which prepares our students for strong graduate schools and a variety of career paths. Our students leave confident in their ability to read scientific literature, collect and understand data, write extensively, and present in large public venues: all necessary and valuable skills.

- Many of our students present at regional and national con- ferences. Recent conference presentations include New Orleans, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, and Indianapolis.
After Graduation
Our graduates leave well-prepared for a variety of career paths and graduate programs. Sociology , sociology-gerontology, and sociology-anthropology majors offer flexibility in the types of career paths you can pursue, with excellent preparation for careers in such fields as:

85 percent of recent sociology graduates were accepted into the graduate program of their choice in the following programs: social work, marriage and family therapy, sociol- ogy, substance abuse and clinical counseling, social psychology, and educational methodology. 100 percent of all sociology majors graduate with professional development preparation in career and graduate school pathways, job placement materials and skill training, and research and professional ethics.
