LaNeeca Williams has been hired as diversity and equity officer at the University of Evansville. She comes to UE from Colorado State University-Pueblo, where she spent five-and-a-half years as director of affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and campus diversity.

Williams, an Evansville native, begins her new role Monday, August 26. As UE’s diversity and equity officer, she will serve as a member of the Office of the President, leading and coordinating efforts in all aspects of diversity, inclusion, educational and employment equity, affirmative action, cultural understanding and competency, and civil and human rights. She will work with internal and external constituents to advance diversity and equity as core values essential to the University's educational mission.

“I am excited about the opportunity to return to Evansville and work at such a wonderful university,” Williams said. “I loved the family-like atmosphere when I visited, and I look forward to working on important diversity initiatives at UE.”

Prior to her position at CSU-Pueblo, Williams served as director of diversity and affirmative action at Indiana State University from 2004-2008.

Williams holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Indiana State University in family and consumer science education.
