Nursing Simulation and Lab Coordinator

Position Overview:

The Dunigan Family School of Nursing Simulation and Lab Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for coordinating simulated clinical experiences for all levels of students in the traditional BSN program and the accelerated BSN program and also manages the nursing laboratory spaces.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates simulated clinical experiences for students in the traditional BSN and ABSN programs through skills labs, organized simulations, and other laboratory activities.
  • Works closely with faculty to schedule and develop simulated clinical experiences. 
  • Manages the Dunigan Family School of Nursing laboratory spaces.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment in the nursing laboratory spaces.
  • Works with the Operations Coordinator and Nursing Chair to order equipment and supplies. 
  • Utilizes technology to run high fidelity manakins and simulation software.
  • Remains current in simulation best practices through involvement in INACSL.
  • Provides orientation of laboratory spaces for students and new faculty.
  • Participates in nursing department committees as assigned. 
  • Participates in University committees for service as designated.
  • Functions as a nursing academic advisor for an assigned group of students. 
  • May require other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master of Nursing degree or higher
  • Active, unencumbered Indiana RN license or eligibility for Indiana license
  • At least 3 years prior RN clinical experience 
  • Simulation and education experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills required
  • Individual must be organized and self-motivated
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills required
