Financial Aid Counselor

The University of Evansville Office of Student Financial Services (SFS) has two openings for Financial Aid Counselor positions.

Qualified candidates will have earned a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 3 years customer service experience; financial aid experience is preferred. Applicants must be able to provide exceptional customer service, as SFS team members work directly with students, families, and the entire campus community. This position requires the capability to work both independently and collaboratively, while demonstrating excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills along with a keen attention to detail. The SFS team serves our students and campus community by helping navigate billing and financial aid processes and questions. Financial Aid Counselors are required to implement University policies and adhere to federal and state regulations. The administration of financial aid includes use of multiple federal, state, internal and external platforms. Additionally, counselors utilize Office Suite daily. Candidates should possess the ability to present a calm demeanor while assisting families through the financial aid process.
 

Position 1: Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide information to prospective and current students and their families in person and online regarding financial aid eligibility and renewal requirements
  • Manage institutional endowed scholarships which includes annual reconciliation
  • Co-manage State Grant funding
  • Process receipt of Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Review and monitor aid eligibility/renewal of institutional scholarship programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Position 2: Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide information to prospective and current students and their families in person and online regarding financial aid eligibility and renewal requirements
  • Co-manage Athletic financial aid administration
  • Co-manage Federal Work-Study Program
  • Co-manage State Grant funding
  • Process receipt of Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Review and monitor aid eligibility/renewal of institutional scholarship programs
  • Other duties as assigned
