Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Evansville (UE) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, with an anticipated start date in the summer or fall of 2025. This position will play a critical role in the continued development of UE’s new Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program, which welcomed its first cohort in fall 2023.

 Key Responsibilities:

- Course Development: Create and deliver courses in core areas of clinical psychology that align with APA Standards of Accreditation, including psychological testing, assessment, diversity, and psychopathology (adult and child/adolescent).

- Primarily teach graduate level classes

- APA Accreditation: Actively participate in the APA accreditation process to ensure the PsyD program meets national standards.

- Program Growth: Contribute to the growth and refinement of the PsyD program through curriculum development and innovative teaching.

 Qualifications:

- Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.

- Licensure: Must be licensed or license-eligible in Indiana, with a commitment to pursue endorsement as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP).

- Areas of Interest: Open, but preferred candidates will have expertise in training areas such as psychological testing, adult and child/adolescent psychopathology, and other discipline-specific knowledge areas.

 About the Program: 

The PsyD program is in its second year of operation and currently has 4 core practicing psychologists as faculty members as well as faculty who teach courses in social psychology, developmental psychology, and other discipline-specific areas. This position is for a core clinical faculty position in the PsyD program, which focuses on producing competent clinical psychologists through a generalist approach to training. One of the core values of this program is inclusive community. The PsyD program is associated with the UE Mental Health and Wellness Clinic and Emily M. Young Assessment Center. It is located on campus and is an outward-facing clinic serving the Evansville area. Psychologists needing postdoctoral hours to earn their HSPP are afforded the opportunity to accumulate direct service hours under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
