Advancement Communications Coordinator

The Advancement Communications Coordinator develops and provides a strategic plan of communication for the Office of University Advancement. The communications coordinator supports the Director of Donor Relations emphasizing communication strategies that provide stewardship and impact reporting to donors. This position also provides support for special events. The communications coordinator reports directly to the Director of Donor Relations and is full time.

Responsibilities:

1. Draft and coordinate campaign gift announcements. 

2. Create donor profiles and testimonials. 

3. Write news articles, including university news and fundraising materials. 

4. Maintain and update the University Advancement Campaign Website. 

5. Develop and execute a strategic communication plan for events, stewardship, and news using various media outlets. 

6. Assist with solicitation and stewardship materials for comprehensive capital campaign. 

7. Create email content, online landing pages and registrations to assist in event and solicitation efforts. 

8. Work with marketing and the alumni team to manage content required for the alumni magazine. 

9. Assist the Director of Donor Relations to create impact and endowment reporting. 

10. Work with Director of Donor Relations to execute annual “Thank You” video 

11. Assist in the development and planning of University Advancement special events. 

12. Coordinate communications with the Chief Communication Officer as needed. 

13. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have 2-5 years of communications experience, knowledge of non-profits is preferred, and a Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations or other related field. The Advancement Communications Coordinator must be a creative writer, have creative design experience and is highly expereinced in communications.

Seeking a professional with deep knowledge of communications, strong writing and verbal schools, background in non-profit is a plus. Requires a bachelor's degree in relevant field.
