Housing Application Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I apply for Housing?
- Students will need to log into their eRezLife housing portal with their UE login and password.
- New students need to paid their admission deposit before access to eRezLife is granted.
- Once logged into eRezLife, select Apply for Housing under the Recommended Actions section on your homepage.
- Follow the on-screen instructions on the next several pages.
- Be sure to accept the terms of the contract. Your application is not complete unless you accept the terms of the contract.
- After submitting your housing application, return to your eRezLife homepage and click the link to pay the $75 Housing Registration Fee under Recommended Actions.
- You will not receive a housing selection time without paying the Housing Registration Fee.
- Students will need to log into their eRezLife housing portal with their UE login and password.
- When should I submit my online housing application?
Housing selection times will be determined based on the date that we receive a completed housing application. Applications should be completed before room selection appointments start.
- For returning students, your start term at the university will be taking into consideration as well when making room selection appointments.
- How much is the Housing Registration Fee?
The housing registration fee is $75, payable in your eRezLife account after you submit your housing application.
- In order to receive a room selection appointment and have your room confirmed, you need have submitted your housing registration fee.
- How can I complete my housing application if I am under the age of 18?
If you are under the age of 18, a parent/guardian section will populate your on your housing application. Your parent/guardian will need to fill this section before you can proceed with your application.
- How do I select my roommate?
If you have a specific request for a roommate, you will have an opportunity to create a roommate pair or group after submitting your completed housing application. You can do so by selecting 'Roommate Groups' from the left side menu. Your chosen roommate will also need to have submitted a housing application for you to create a group with them.
- What if I do not have a roommate in mind but would like one?
If you're not sure who you'd like to live with yet, you can choose to search for possible roommates using Roomeez! Start by turning on your 'RoomeeZ' profile by selecting 'My Roommate Profile' from the left side menu. Here you can decide what information to share about yourself with potential roommates. Once you've turned on your profile, you'll be able to search for others and invite them to join a roommate group with you. Everyone you invite to your roommate group will need to accept the invitation.
- How do I select my meal plan?
After you select your room, you will be able to select your meal plan in your eRezLife account.
- How can I apply to live off campus?
- Students entering as freshmen (includes transfer freshmen entering UE after one semester at another institution) must reside in either University Housing or University Approved Housing for a minimum of three academic years or the equivalent of six fall/spring semesters.
- Entering freshmen (and continuing students that entered as freshmen) may request an exemption if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Student has attained the age of 22 prior to the start of the semester.
- Student’s local residence is with a parent or legal guardian and is located within a 35-mile radius.
- Student is married and/or must live with their dependent.
- Fill out the online Residency Exemption Form.
