Move-Out Process

We appreciate your patience over the past several weeks as we have been navigating through the COVID-19 situation. We are now pleased to announce the process for students to return and check out of their UE residences. Appointments are now available from Saturday, May 2 through the end of May.

Here is some information you need to know about scheduling your appointment:

  • Move-out appointments are limited to a specific number, each day, due to public health guidelines and social distancing requirements.

  • A maximum of 3 people, including helpers, can be signed up and present in any room or apartment for a scheduled checkout appointment. This can be a combination of roommates, apartment-mates, and helpers. However, the total cannot exceed three people.

  • A limited number of daily appointments are allocated per floor/area during each time slot.

  • There are three time slots each day:
    • 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    • 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
    • 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

It is essential that all items are moved out during the three hours that are allotted per time slot.

Scheduling a Checkout Appointment:

Here is your link to schedule your Self-Checkout Appointment.

  • Remember there can be no more than 3 people in a room or apartment for an appointment. You will want to discuss this with your roommates so that there is no more than three people present at one given time.
  • Note: The university reserves the right to adjust appointments to maintain social distancing standards.
  • If you are unable to return to campus during this move-out period, please contact residencelife@evansville.edu to discuss other options.

Health Screening Survey: The day prior to arrival, you will be sent a health screening survey. This survey must be filled out prior to being admitted into your residence. If you or your helpers have had any possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus within 14 days of the scheduled appointment, we ask that you reschedule your appointment out of respect and concern for our campus community.

Personal Protective Equipment We encourage you to come to campus with your own personal protective equipment. For your safety and the safety of others, we recommend that all students and helpers wear protective face masks and practice regular hand washing / sanitizing while on campus.

Overnight Accommodations and Storage
For your convenience, we have pulled together listing of area hotels and storage options.

Accommodations: Unfortunately, if you need a place to stay in Evansville, we are unable to provide overnight accommodations. We hope you find this listing helpful.

Storage: If you need on-campus storage, please contact your Residential Coordinator to schedule a storage appointment 48 hours prior to your arrival.

We hope that opening the campus for checkout will provide some much needed relief to you and your family. Please stay safe and healthy in your journey back to campus!

Sincerely,

Michael Tessier
