About TRIO

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) provides academic support services that help first generation, low-income households, and students with disabilities to persist and graduate from college.

Why TRIO?

The program is not just about what we offer, it's about how and for whom. We take a proactive, intentional, and personalized approach with each participant to help them achieve success.

Most importantly, TRIO is for all class years – it is not exclusive to first-year students. Support staff will help you prepare for life after graduation, including financial literacy, job searching, graduate school applications, and more.

Welcome to TRIO Student Support Services at the University of Evansville!

As a first-generation college student myself, I know what it feels like to navigate higher education without a clear roadmap — uncertain about where to turn, unaware of the resources available, and trying to find my place on campus. That experience has never left me, and it is exactly what drives my passion for this work.

When I joined UE in 2022, I discovered just how much support is available for students, and I became committed to making sure that support actually reaches the students who need it most. That's what TRIO SSS is all about. We build on the strong foundation of campus-wide resources by offering something distinctive: a personalized, proactive approach tailored specifically for first-generation students, income-eligible students, and students with disabilities.

Our team is here to walk alongside you — not just to help you survive college, but to help you truly thrive. Whether it's navigating financial aid, exploring career paths, building academic confidence, or simply feeling connected and supported, we meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go.

I am proud to lead this program and grateful for the campus community that makes it possible. To our current and future Aces: you don't have to figure this out alone. Your success is our mission, and we are here for you every step of the way. We can't wait to connect with you!

Warmly,

Tracy Gerth
