Why did you choose to study abroad, and why do you recommend it?

I have always enjoyed traveling and learning about new places. Studying abroad is a great way to learn more about the world and other cultures, but you also learn so much about yourself. You get to continue your education so you don’t get behind, but you also get to experience how there is so much more to the world then just the small circle you see everyday.

What was your favorite thing about Harlaxton?

I loved being at Harlaxton with all of my UE friends! It made it more comfortable knowing I was traveling with people I know and trust. We found it funny how quickly the Manor became our new home. On weekends we would catch ourselves saying we were ready to go home, meaning the Manor. It really does become your safe spot and a place you feel comfortable.

What piece of advice would you give to someone planning to study at Harlaxton?

Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone. You are going to be surrounded by new people, new places, new languages, and new cultures. You won’t know everything, and you will probably get some weird looks from locals. Just be yourself, and push yourself to learn and explore as much as possible.

What were some countries/landmarks you visited while abroad?

My favorite places I went to were Iceland, North Wales, Malta, and Croatia. They all had beautiful scenery that was breathtaking. I enjoyed seeing Iceland right after they had a snow storm, so everything was covered in sparkly snow and looked beautiful. The ocean water in Malta and Croatia was so clear and blue, it was nothing like I have ever seen before.
