Outstanding Educators of the Year Nominee Information Form

A student, former student, parent, or colleague has recognized your gift to the teaching profession by nominating you for an Outstanding Educator of the Year award. Current full-time Vanderburgh County classroom teachers or building principals, grades K-12, who have completed at least three full years of service are eligible for this nomination. Those who have received the Outstanding Educator of the Year award are ineligible to receive the award in the same category again for a period of ten years.

You must be a current full-time classroom teacher or building principal to be eligible for this award.

An outstanding educator will be selected in each of the following categories:

  • Elementary School Teacher (K-5)
  • Middle School Teacher (6-8)
  • High School Teacher (9-12)
  • Building Principal

Selected educators receive a cash award of $1,000 and recognition at the School of Education's Recognition Ceremony to be held May 1, 2025 at the University of Evansville.

Following receipt of your completed nominee information form, a selection committee composed of teachers, former educators, community leaders, and past outstanding educator winners will review the information you provide. Members of the committee will select finalists in February to observe and interview their respective school settings in February and March. The selection committee is looking for teaching practices that exhibit excellence and innovation in the school and classroom.

Teachers must have completed at least three years of full-time service in the classroom. Building principals must have completed at least three years of full-time service as a building principal.

Forms are due by January 24, 2025.
