Introduction

The breadth of knowledge and engagement that is characteristic of a liberal education is central to developing strong students from across all majors at the University who are prepared to live and thrive as global citizens in our increasingly complex, diverse, and changing world.

The Enduring Foundations General Education Program provides students with that strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences and supports the University's international focus and commitment to social responsibility. The program is framed in terms of student learning, clearly identifying the variety of ways that students will develop knowledge and skills, exercise creativity and innovation, engage big questions, and learn to make a difference in their world. The Enduring Foundations General Education Program makes up approximately one-third of every undergraduate degree at the University.
