Leadership Awards hosted by the Center for Student Engagement
The University of Evansville Leadership Awards celebrate the achievements of outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership on campus. Established in 1983, this annual event brings together multiple departments to honor students for their dedication, service, and impact in various areas of campus life. The awards highlight the diverse talents and contributions of UE students, fostering a sense of community and recognizing those who inspire others through their leadership.
Athletics
- Ralph H. Coleman Scholar Student Athlete Award / Lois D. Patton Award
Each year, the University of Evansville Athletics department recognizes their top male and female senior student athletes with the Ralph H. Coleman Scholar Athlete Award (male) and the Lois D. Patton Award (female). Recipients of these awards have demonstrated excellence not only in athletic accomplishments but also in academic achievement and community involvement.

- ACE Certificates
The Career Development ACE Certificates are given to students who have completed the ACE Certificate Program Completions.
Center for Inclusive Excellence
- Diversity and Inclusion at Work Award
The Diversity and Inclusion at Work Award is given to a student organization, athletic team, or group of students that sponsored or participated in a program with the goal of providing diversity and social justice education through a campus or community event. - Champion of Diversity
Candidates for the Champion of Diversity Award are student leaders who exemplify their commitment to service, social justice, and diversity through promoting respect for diversity and individual differences in their activities, projects, discussions, or their leadership with student organizations. - President’s Diversity and Inclusion Senior Award
The President’s Diversity and Inclusion Senior Award recognizes the accomplishments of a student leader that contributes to diversity and inclusion through exemplary leadership. Recipients should demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion through multiple ways, including helping with recruitment and retention efforts, programming or events, cultural competency, community outreach activities, or other initiatives.
Center for Innovation and Change
- Changemaker of the Year
The Changemaker of the Year award recognizes a student who has gone above and beyond in a Changemaker project that benefits the community and campus. - Emerging Changemaker of Year
The Emerging Changemaker of the Year award recognizes a student who has had an outsized impact early on as a UE student.
Community Service Initiatives
- Golden Heart Award: Student
The Golden Heart Award is awarded to a student who has shown dedication, passion, and drive to serve the UE and Evansville communities. This award values servant leadership in its core. It is given to a student that has displayed these aspects over the past year and that will continue to do so even after leaving the UE and Evansville communities. - Golden Heart Award: Staff

The award for Outstanding International Leadership goes to the student who exemplifies the characteristics of a true leader: dedicated, self-sacrificing, positive, and an example for others.
International Support Services
- Outstanding International Senior
The annual Outstanding International Senior award was established in 1989 to recognize an international student who has achieved excellence in their academic program, who has taken an active role in promoting international awareness through programs, leadership and activities, and whose presence at UE has enhanced our international visibility.
Intramurals
- Outstanding Intramural Supervisor
The Outstanding Intramural Supervisor Award is presented to an individual who has consistently gone above and beyond expectations, significantly enhancing the quality, success, and overall experience of the Intramural Program at the University of Evansville. This award honors a supervisor whose dedication, leadership, and innovation have made a lasting impact on the program, fostering an environment where participants thrive, and the community feels supported and engaged. Their contributions play a crucial role in elevating the intramural experience for all involved.

- Admission Ambassador Leadership Award
The Admission Ambassador Leadership Award is presented to an Admission Ambassador that shows a high level of leadership within the organization. - Admission Ambassador Vision Award
- Admission Ambassador Service Award
The Admission Ambassador Service Award is presented to the Ambassador that goes above and beyond in their service to the organization and to UE while being a strong leader and mentor.
Office of Residence Life
- Resident Assistant of the Year
The Resident Assistant of the Year Award is intended to recognize a Resident Assistant who has exemplified what it means to be an RA. Nominees should demonstrate good role modeling, an excellent work ethic, a good attitude, and a helpful disposition. Finally, they must portray a positive outlook about their position. - Donnie Dunville Award
The Donnie Dunville Dedication and Service Award is conveyed to a student who exemplifies a spirit of service and dedication within our Residence Life community. Known to all as Donnie, he began his career at UE in August 1974. Throughout his 42 years tenure working in Facilities, Donnie has been recognized as Employee of the Year as well as receiving an honorary degree in 2016. Beyond displaying devotion to UE and being an unwavering advocate for enhancements, he takes time to get to know you and he helps you be your best by drawing upon your strengths and telling you why you could personally make a difference. He enthusiastically and selflessly volunteers his personal time to improve the lives of those around him. He has a positive impact on people, encouraging them to join him in service projects. No matter what Donnie is doing, he will always take the time to talk with people and help them feel welcome and comfortable here at UE. The Donnie Dunville Dedication and Service Award is a distinguished honor given to a UE student with the following qualifications: has at least two years of experience, displays an outstanding work ethic, makes solid contributions to the department – benefiting the UE residential community, shows a genuine care for fellow students, volunteers personal time for those in need, exhibits a strong sense of social responsibility, and has a dedication to the overall enhancement of the UE experience.

- SGA Representative of the Year
The SGA Representative of the Year Award is presented to a Representative of the Student Congress who has shown an immense passion for furthering the goals of the Students at the University of Evansville through Student Government. - SGA Vision Award

The Mark R. Simpson Award is made to recognize a student who has truly overcome adversity during their time as a student.

Our organizations are successful because of the commitment of the student leaders and the advisors who give freely of their time and support.
