Andrèa Hughes is a 2011 graduate of the University of Evansville, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Counseling and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Leadership at the University of Evansville.

With an extensive professional background in social services, Andrèa brings a wealth of experience to the Project SafeSpace initiative. Her career includes work as an Investigator for the Department of Child Services, SADVST Advocacy (including at Albion Fellows Bacon Center), and in various leadership roles within nonprofit management and foster care agencies.

Before joining us at UE, Andrèa served as the Director of Employment Services at Evansville Goodwill Industries, overseeing programs like SCSEP (Senior Community Service Employment Program) and Vocational Rehabilitation Services for individuals with barriers to employment across Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. Her work focused on empowering individuals to achieve sustainable employment opportunities by providing career counseling, skills development, and job placement services for individuals with various challenges, including those with disabilities, limited work experience, or histories of unemployment.

In addition to her time at Evansville Goodwill, Andrèa’s expertise also extends to child welfare services. She served as a SAFE Home Study Practitioner and Program Director for NECCO Foster Care, where she focused on licensing foster families and ensuring compliance with Indiana state policies and standards for licensed foster families and the placement of youth in care.

We are thrilled to have Andrèa on board and look forward to her leadership in guiding the Project SafeSpace initiative as we continue our mission to combat gender-based violence and promote safety, equity, and justice for all.
